Wednesday 24th September 2025

10am - 4pm

Delgatie Castle, Turriff

Are you longing to rediscover the joy of painting, or seeking a fresh burst of creative inspiration? Whether you haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school or you’re an enthusiastic painter eager for a day of experimentation, this workshop is designed for you.

Throughout the day, we will explore the expressive possibilities of acrylics, inks, and a variety of unconventional mark-making tools—everything but the traditional paintbrush. My aim is to ignite (or rekindle) your passion for painting, encouraging you to create artwork rich in texture, energy, and unique marks.

Our morning session will focus on playful experimentation with small-scale studies, allowing you to discover new techniques and materials in a relaxed, supportive environment. In the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your favourite methods to a simple seascape, either by following a guided demonstration or working from your own chosen reference.

This workshop is all about painting freely and informally, with no pressure or expectations— just the pleasure of working with vibrant media, exploring composition, and letting your creativity lead the way.

My goal is to help you build confidence, develop your artistic voice, and leave feeling inspired to continue your painting journey.

  • Suitable for all levels of experience

  • All materials provided

  • Small group size (maximum 6 participants) for individual attention

  • Morning coffee, lunch, and afternoon tea included, courtesy of the Castle Team

  • Full course details will be sent by email one week prior to the workshop

I look forward to welcoming you for a day of creativity, discovery, and artistic fun.
