The White Sands of Harris
Oil on canvas
Approx 90 × 90 cm framed in white
This painting was inspired by the by the beautiful beach at Hushinish on the island of Harris. The painting captures the light, the colours and movement of the beach. I was in awe of my surroundings
When you visit Harris it’s not unusual to be the only person on the beach and i find with little distraction I focus on the surroundings taking in the whole atmosphere of the place, absorbing it all knowing it will reemerge on canvas at a later date. The island is truly beautiful and i hope this painitng does it a little justice
The in situ photos are mock ups but will hopefully give you an idea how it would look in your home . A real wow factor painting

“Cloudburst of Colour” Soft lavenders and coral form a broad sky melting into a luminous horizon; I layered brushwork into smoky clouds and tide highlights, balancing warm oranges with cool mauves to create a contemplative, slightly expectant mood. A subtle piece that complements relaxed and refined interiors.
