What to Expect:

  • Step-by-step guidance through the creative process, focusing on adding texture with a purpose. Can we use texture to help create an emotion such as power, anger, calm or hope.

  • Experimenting with acrylics with exciting additions of inks and mixed media.

  • Build your confidence in adding another element to your art

  • Develop a semi-abstract work inspired by observation and/or imagination. We will discuss the fundamentals needed to create an engaging abstract piece.

  • All materials provided: variety of textures, paints, inks and surface.

  • A creative, supportive environment in the inspiring setting of the castle.

  • Delicious refreshments throughout the day: morning coffee, lunch, and afternoon tea, courtesy of the castle’s team.

Just bring your enthusiasm and creativity!

Everything else is taken care of, so you can relax and enjoy a day dedicated to art.

Small group size (maximum 6 participants) for individual attention

Please note: This course is best suited for those with some prior painting experience.

Where is the workshop being held?

The workshop will be held at Delgatie Castle,Turriff, Aberdeenshire, AB53 5TD 

Ground floor access  - Please note this is a historic building with uneven floors and some steps to facilities. 

What time should I arrive?

Attendees should arrive by 9.45am.

Are materials included?

Materials are included. I will supply all texture, paints, inks and surfaces for you to use . 

If you wish to bring some of your own materials please do.

Do you provide lunch and refreshments?

Yes, Morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided by the venue.

What should I wear ?

Please wear old clothing or bring an apron to protect your clothing. 

I will supply disposable gloves should you wish to wear them.

Booking

  • You will be contacted 1 week before the course with an outline of the days timetable .

Cancellations 

If I cancel:

  • If I have to cancel the course for any reason , you are welcome to transfer payments to a future date. Alternatively your payment will be refunded in full.

If you cancel :

  • If you have to cancel your booking it’s important you let me know as soon as possible.

  • If you cancel 2 weeks or more from the start date you will be refunded the full amount.

  • If you cancel less than 2 weeks before the start date I will do my best to fill your place and you will be refunded your payment minus £25 admin charge . If however I am unable to fill your space no refund will given. You are of course welcome to find someone to take your space but you must let me know and give me their contact details 4 days in advance of the course starting.
