October - A little experiment…

This month I have started experimenting - I love trying new ways of creating and I have started working with a Gelli printing plate .

When I was in college I discovered the work of Victoria Crowe . The backgrounds in her oil paintings were full layers, with colours popping through and texture created by what I think was scumbling. I loved this effect !

Gelli printing is another way of creating some fantastic backgrounds and I’m really interested to see if I can work some of these printed backgrounds into my landscapes or some botanical work . I am so lucky to have a great garden and I love the winter when the plants becomes almost sculpture like in the garden . I wonder what I can do ?

I’m at the beginning of this new adventure but let’s see where it goes.

It may work , it may not but I’ve got nothing to lose .😊
