Saturday 25th May 2024

9.45am - 4pm

Delgatie Castle, Turriff

Was the last time you picked up a paintbrush at school? Have you always hankered to have a go again or do you love painting and want to have a day full of creativity and fun, this workshop will suit both.

The aim is to experiment with acrylics, inks and some unusual mark making instruments. I want to ignite or rekindle your love of painting and send you away thinking about how you can make your artwork full of interesting marks and textures; everything but a paintbrush comes to mind.

Our day will begin with experimenting on small scale pieces then we will be ready to work on a seascape painting. I’ll guide you through the whole process. The afternoon will be dedicated to you exploring and experimenting with the techniques you have discovered in the morning session. You will have the choice of following a demonstration piece or working on an image you have sourced.

The aim of the day is to paint in an informal and free way with no pressure. It’s about enjoying working with the media, enjoying putting the paint down, understanding how a good composition can lead the way and allow the painting to develop. I want to build your confidence and send you home full of enthusiasm to keep painting!

Suitable for all levels of ability. All materials are provided.

The course is limited to 6 people to give you the best possible experience.

Refreshments of morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea is included and provided by the Castle Team.
